About Trek For Life

 

 

Douglas, Gerald, Patrick and Shawn decided to take on the challenge of trekking up Mount Kilimanjaro in an effort to raise publicity and funds for certain Charities.

 

The Charities were;

 

Ir Razzett tal Hbiberija, a non profit organisation offering leisure, educational and therapeutic services to disabled persons.

Step By Step Foundation, a non profit organisation set up by parents of brain injured children to help other parents of brain injured children.

Kane Corradi, a young boy suffering from a rare condition called Chromosome 13 deletion and Retinoblastoma.

Mkombozi Centre for Street Children, an Orphanage in Tanzania that offers a home and education to children abandoned by their parents.

KCCO; the Kilimanjaro Community Centre for Ophthalmology, one of the few centres in Tanzania where locals can receive affordable or free ophthalmic treatments. The centre is mainly funded by donations.

All funds raised were given directly to the charities and all costs related to the actual trek and related travels were funded from the four menís personal funds.
